My Love Affair with Cannabis

I’ve always thought Cannabis is like a woman: layers and layers; Persecuted and revered – full of magic and wonder!

As you know, I am a big fan of this highly revered plant that has been cultivated for centuries. I have many years of experience in dealing with it. My lived experience is very practical (it helps me with concentration, to relax, and get out of my head) but it is most definitely also spiritual, helping to open my heart center by freeing my mind. Our brains are full of cannabinoid receptors in areas of the brain related to behavior, thought, and mood. When cannabinoids in cannabis interact with these receptors, they produce euphoric, relaxing effects.

Several factors can influence the effects—dosage, quality, strain, frequency and method of use. Different parts of this plant also have different uses. For example, I used a CBD concentrate for many years to calm my nerves.

Before the recreational use of cannabis, it was often used as a tool for spiritual awakening, ceremony and meditation. It has deep roots in indigenous traditions on every continent and has been popular in India since the beginning of recorded history. According to legend, the Hindu God Shiva wandered off into the fields after a fight with his family. He was so drained after the fight that he fell asleep and when he woke up, he saw a plant that interested him. He sampled the leaves and felt instantly better.

So, how do we use edibles, candies, smokes, cookies or bhang (a popular drink in India) in a more spiritual way? Well, for starters, we have to align with the frequency of the plant in order to go beyond the superficial. Once there is a vibrational match, the next step is to be INTENTIONAL and RESPECTFUL. No one does this better than my husband Richard. He keeps records every season of what he has grown, how he fertilized it and when he harvested it. Talk about respect!

One of the best birthday gifts I ever received was from Richard’s friend Joe who I share a birthday with. He gave me a CBD strain called Ringo’s Gift. It was creamy and smooth like a vanilla milkshake! It left me feeling grounded and peaceful, clear and focused and that first feeling stayed with me until this day.

TEMPLE KEEPING – Creating a Sacred Space

Hello Lovelies!

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to create order and beauty. Sorting and organizing soothes me and keeping my house spick and span has become a vital part of my spiritual well being.

When life throws me a curve ball, and it’s thrown me PLENTY (which you can read about in my book very soon) nothing grounds me quite like cleaning my house does. When crisis ensues, my first reaction is to schedule a couple of days to get intimate with my house and escape the world.

For me, housework is a spiritual experience and involves a number of rituals. First I choose my soundtrack, whatever I need to inspire me to action. Sometimes it’s Stevie Wonder and sometimes its Tibetan sound bowls. WHATEVER KEEPS ME MOVING.

Windows are opened to release stale energy and dirty linens are piled into the washing machine for a sanitizing and refreshing. Every surface is polished and all of my keepsakes are given a bath in hot soapy water.

I am always filled with gratitude as I explore every corner of my home searching for dirt. I am reminded of all that I already have and this really uplifts my mood.

My final cleansing ritual is to smudge the entire house with my favorite herb to clear the energy. I like to use native herbs that grow in my garden. Rosemary is my favorite.

I also look forward to filling the house with bouquets of fresh flowers after I have made it sparkle. Flowers make the house feel happy and serene and treating myself to them every week is also part of my self-care routine – whether the house is clean or not!

Once in a BLUE MOON

Hey Moon Lovers

I hope you are ready for some one-of-a-kind blue moon magic because this August 22, 2021 moon is a special one. This is the second full moon in a row rising in the sign of Aquarius – which means double the light (illuminations, reveals, conclusions, missing pieces) + double the opportunity.

This moon is also known as the Sturgeon Moon. Legend has it that this name came about because the giant Sturgeon Fish were plentiful at this point in summer and therefore easiest to catch.That is what this moon is all about : Catching those BIG FISH.

Here are my top tips on using the energy of this moon:

Get creative. With this moon rising in the sign of Aquarius, your creative juices are going to be pumping. The need for self-expression will be a theme. Journal, cook, paint, write. Find ways to channel that bubbling energy.
Think of your “big fish”. What are your biggest goals? What have you been working on that you need to finish with a bang? We are manifesting at a much more rapid rate than ever before with the amount of high-frequency light that is currently pouring onto our planet. Don’t sleep on this one. Now is the time to catch those big fish.
Rest. I can’t emphasize this enough. You may feel directionless and overwhelmed by all the energies at play. Ground yourself. Let the light of the full moon show you the best routes/maps/paths while you rest. (I plan to use a CBD strain of cannabis and meditation).

I’m your Venus! – Calling All Lovers

I’m your fire and your desire

I don’t know if I told you guys that I have a great lover. I didn’t? Well now you know. So yesterday I was looking over at my hot lover and there was an incredible glow about him. Just sheer, oozy, sexy, love energy!

I’ve been off work so we spent time in the hot tub, I enjoyed some cannabis in my vaporizer and he cooked. While I was admiring his shape I looked at the astrology forecasts for the next couple of weeks and I noticed that Venus – Goddess of all things love, beauty, desire has just moved into her home sign of Libra (Monday 16 August 2021). I was definitely feeling the vibes.

Happy MAYAN Birthday CALIFORNIA – July 14, 2021 –11 KEJ

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am celebrating my home state of CALIFORNIA. I like to say that California reminds me of a beautiful woman. She’s a little high maintenance and really expensive. But…simply being in her presence is more than worth the trouble.

California carries the energy of 11 KEJ according to the Mayan sacred calendar. Today is also an 11 Kej day so it is California’s Mayan Birthday, in a way.

The totem animal for the Nawal Kej is the deer. It is the Nawal of NATURE, STRENGTH and SPIRITUAL LEADERS. Eleven has a restless tone to it and can bring spiritual tests when combined with the Nawal Kej.

Taking a hike through the forest is an excellent way to balance the directionless energy this day may bring.

California is known for its rugged landscapes and spiritual liberalism. It’s also the worlds’ fifth largest economy so it is very strong and very powerful. It embodies the qualities of its Nawal 11 Kej. My home state is also well known for its CANNABIS.

The Compassionate Use Act was passed nearly 25 years ago making California the first state to legalize the use of cannabis for medical purposes. There are now 37 states that have legalized medical marijuana.

Something else to CELEBRATE!

I invite you to embrace the wild and spiritual energy of today. Let your inner wanderer free. Take a journey into the forest and, perhaps enjoy your favorite plant medicine. THAT’S MY PLAN.
